As promised, I wanted to share with you the second video from the Entrepreneur TV series by the lovely Jalanda James. It's only one minute, so be sure to watch it for some quick, practical advice on how to be successful.
Is there an area in your life that you feel stuck in?
If you're frustrated with where you're at, make sure to get out and take part in an activity that brings you joy.
It doesn't have to be in the same area as the goal you're focusing on. For example, you might be trying to manifest the love of your life, but you keep meeting the wrong guys & you're afraid you might never find someone who meets your criteria. Then go out to your favorite concert or take a yoga class at the gym if that's what you love doing. You'll get out of your 'lack of' headspace. Or if it's better health that you're after, but you've been meaning to sign up for that photography class - just do it! Every aspect of your life affects one another, and by raising your vibration in one, the others also lift. When you do something you love, you won't just feel better. It inherently raises your vibration so that you can start manifesting things that are more in line with what you want. Remember, you only attract that to which you're a vibrational match to. And chances are, when you're out in the world doing something you love, you'll probably meet people there with similar interests too. And who knows where those connections could lead to?
Here's a story of how I followed my heart and ended up on an incredible adventure in India:
Live music & film are two of my favorite things. When I was in India getting my yoga teacher's certification, I met a man who came to our Ashram to perform a concert. I was so moved by the performance, that afterwards I went up and thanked him. We started talking, and he invited me to a larger concert he was giving in town the following week. When it was time to go, none of my friends from the ashram were interested in coming with me. Traveling in India is not easy, and it would've been 2 hours back and forth. But I decided I really wanted to go to the performance, and so I went it alone.
I didn't have a cell phone, but my new friend Haridas told me to meet him on the stage. I had no idea how that was going to happen, but when I got there, to my surprise and delight, it was an outdoor concert, and I found him easily. He was so happy that I showed up that he brought me to meet his guru, the famous santoor player Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. It turns out it was his concert that he was giving as part of an International Film Festival in India. Someone had made a documentary about him that was premiering the next day. The classical Indian music was mesmerizing. Afterwards, I ended up being treated to dinner with the musicians and other famous filmmakers from around the world. They even put me up in their hotel, and I was able to go to a few film screenings the next day. In between, I kept getting taken out to one meal after another by different filmmakers.
I met a French filmmaker who was the special guest of the festival. He invited me to see his film featuring Natalie Portman. And after, I was picked up by a private car and brought to an invite-only lunch with him & the Commissioner of Arts in India. As if it couldn't get any better, later that evening I had an intimate dinner with 8 other film festival directors from around the world at one of their homes, and shared a car with the Film Director of MoMA. It was an extraordinary experience sharing stories of art and India. I was amazed by their film and music experiences, and they were amazed by my ashram one. From what I thought would simply be an afternoon concert - I ended up staying 3 days before returning to meet my friends. And it led to other visits and a lifelong family friendship.
Here are my takeaways from the experience.
Manifesting Advice for Success:
1. Do something you love everyday.
2. Do it alone. We all need good alone time to connect to source. Meditation is an amazing tool for success. But don't be afraid to go out into the world on your own. It usually leads to beautiful synchronicities. You might be joining up with a group in a class, or you might be taking a walk out in nature. But if you've gone there with other people you know, you won't be as open to new conversations. And new conversations always lead to new connections and adventures.
3. Get rid of the things you don't love.
When you follow your heart, you'll have the most fun, and the universe always shows up to support you. (Click to tweet.)
